OpenAI is raising funds at a valuation of $80 billion to$ 90 billion [Link]

OpenAI is reportedly considering selling shares, which could increase its valuation from $29 billion to a range of $80 billion to $90 billion. Instead of issuing new shares, employees may have the option to sell their existing ones. Earlier this year, OpenAI secured over $300 million in funding, separate from a significant investment from Microsoft, which was approximately$ 10 billion. OpenAI, in which Microsoft holds a 49% stake, is projected to reach $1 billion in revenue in 2023.

Earlier today Sam Altman, founder of OpenAI posted a comment on Reddit after 7 years

He later edited his initial post mentioning that it was a meme. Sam added “..obviously this is just memeing, y’all have no chill! when agi is achieved it will not be announced with a Reddit comment…”

An interesting cycle is happening: Quora SEO’d themselves to the top of every search result, and is now serving ChatGPT answers on their page, so that’s propagating to the answers Google gives!
